Selkeä voiton fiilis

Perjantai 19.6.2026 klo 2.36 - saara merikivi

Hmm, during many thoughts, the summer came, but I haven't been ready at all and now I'm at home meeting but no one, even though the sadness at the same time gnaws at me in many directions and I don't understand why I'm completely alone in this world. Have I done wrong, because no one wants to be a friend without bullying me, but partly it doesn't matter in the end, but I have good news and I want to tell you that I got into a leadership training that lasts six months and is organized by a sister company of the Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities

called Rusetti ry. Well, how did I get there, before that there was a leader training that lasted six hours. After that, I applied for leadership training and got in, but there was a bump in the road. At that time, my mentor had fallen ill and I couldn't find a mentor for me. Well, now a year passed despite the decision while waiting for news and one day I got a call telling me good news. I've found a mentor who is ready to train me to be a leader, and after that I screamed with happiness.

I was heard and cared for once, even though there are others who supported me in this project at the same time. Well, in six months I'll be a leader if everything goes well. I'm so happy now and luckily I was able to wait for that program.

But then what about the rest? Well, I'm all alone on summer vacation, but it doesn't matter if I have a few good friends who brighten up the day. One is, or actually a few, my crumbs, but I won't tell you more if this is true. I dream way too much, but one thing is that I'm polygamous, which made it so much easier to realize. I'm richer anyway and don't care what others say. I still try not to notice other people's comments if they're so mean.

What else. I've also been able to get through the art education. How am I, is there any change in how I feel, so a month ago my aunt died, which brought back a sad feeling and my ex left me at the end, which hurt a lot. Fortunately, I've slowly sorted out these things and continued to do so.

Why the 1860s can be called a pivotal decade in Finnish history

In the 1860s, Finland had the great famine years in its entire history, which were so far the greatest of any peacetime compared to the whole of Western Europe. Only in the shorter years 1866-1868, during which time 270,000 people died against the population out of less than two hundred million, but 150,000 died of so-called surplus starvation, but also of epidemics caused by hunger.

The worst years were 1868, as a result of which as many as 137,720 died, which was 8 per cent. Because in these years of hunger crises, the proportion of even larger ones, which is known to be more destructive, than ever during hunger crises in other countries.

The emergence of famine years is food shortages, rising grain prices, hunger riots, an increase in property crimes, but also an increase in deaths directly caused by starvation, the increase in wandering and begging, but also epidemics caused by famine, which in terms of numbers and the fear of increasing the number of people affected.

In the 1860s, riots caused by famine crises had to follow a general model, which resulted in a general shortage of food supply caused by external models. This, in turn, increased food prices, which made the situation more difficult for the poor, but it in turn caused unemployment.

As a result, poor people start migrating by concentrating on emergency aid construction sites and food distribution centers. Diseases are also becoming more common, wandering with the people who spread elsewhere. At the same time, mortality weighs heavily, as a result of which it causes an increase in migration, and this is the pattern that Finland followed.

The Genesis of Hunger Mechanism

At the beginning of the 1800s, the most important part of the Finnish people's food economy was not grain production, which was the most important part. Was it the Bible then, which was literally about the more everyday bread? In addition, root crops, peas, but also beans were grown. Potatoes were only just becoming more common, and dairy

products were used. Meat was enjoyed from time to time, as well as fish. The famine was caused precisely because of grain products, because the harvest was not always produced. The most common cereal products were rye and barley, but also some oats and wheat. So all food supply was tied to grain products, even if there were grain substitutes, which were straw and wheat. Pettu also played a major role in food supply.

Why did I experience a famine in the 1860s, the crops were completely destroyed and also barley was left in short supply and other crops suffered. There were significant differences between the regions.

In the province of Kuopio, the rye harvest was estimated to have been on average 22% of normal. Barley accounted for 23% and oats for only 15% of the usual amount. In the Province of Oulu, the corresponding proportions were 25%, 38% and 16%, and in the Province of Mikkeli 45%, 33% and 22%. https://www.duodecimlehti.fi/duo10652

2.) How were the effects of industrialization visible in Finnish society at the end of the 1800s?

In the 1800s, the population of Finland grew at a rapid pace and industrialization began alongside it. In other words, as a result, Finland industrialized. Most of them were workers and the workers had no property, but they also worked in the factories of the city.

3.) How differently is the position of women perceived in the two quotes below, and how do they reflect the transformation of Finnish social thinking and the development of civil society?

One of the key advocates of equality was Minna Canth. She brought up grievances about the status of women and those thoughts, even published in her newspaper article, and the grievances of the writings were predominantly written in Finland around the 1800s. He also wrote about poverty and notions of chastity. Canth also improved and promoted the position of women with new movements, such as educational opportunities, which was a pioneer of Finnish-language education.

One of the biggest key issues was to establish a women's association in the 1884s, which promoted the status of women socially, but also financially, to improve their position. The association demands the same rights for women as men had at that time. It also later took a stand especially on equality, family life and working life. Even today, it is important to promote equality that unites all women to work together for this cause.

"But the core of the current women's movement is the apostasy from the foundations of Christianity. A woman is not satisfied with the position in which Christianity and the order of nature placed her, she wants out, out into society and into the spheres of political activity, she wants this and she wants this, and you don't always know what you want, but at least she wants power, she wants glory. A conscientious man is languishing in the heavy field of state and social activity – how could a woman endure that!"

Source: Bishop Gustaf Johansson in his speech at the clergy of the Riksdag on 9 February 1885

"Freedom of action, freedom of thought! The weight of old, rigid forms and habits squeezes and depresses our mental powers. The obstacle to free competition in the various fields of work in society forces us to languish in material misery. In this way, the woman becomes a machine and loses her naturalness, being only the monkey of others. It is only natural, then, that an attempt should be made to bind women to darkness and a state of slavery by means of the Bible. The rights which a woman asks for for herself belong to a social and not a religious sphere, although they, like all development, are based on pure Christianity . . . Then they say

Again: "Even through emancipation, women lose their femininity". It depends on what is meant by "femininity" . But femininity is something higher and nobler than that kind of chicken-likeness, or goose-likeness, – what should we call it? And it is precisely because femininity might gain more ground, to have more influence for the good of humanity, that is why freedom and equality must be granted to women."

5.) How was Finland Russified at the turn of the 1800s and 1900s?

In February 1899, the Russian Emperor Nicholas II issued a manifesto, which marked the beginning of the Russification period. Its purpose is to restrict the rights of Finns to make their own laws.

The Emperor also appointed Nikolai Bibrikov as Finland's new General Governor. Its task is to order the transformation of Finland into Russian.

The Finnish people were shocked by the February manifesto. The emperor had reportedly accepted by mistake, so they thought. At the same time, Finnish students collected signatures for a petition against Russification. The name of the petition is the Great Petition. The petition received approximately more than 500,000 signatures. The Finns were ready to take the Great Petition to the Emperor in St. Petersburg, but the Russian Emperor did not agree to it.

In the 1903 century, there were major changes, for example, Nikolai Borikov received dictator's rights and, as a result, increased regulations, thus restricting the activities of Finland's petitions. At that time, the army was also disbanded and as a result, Finns had to join the Russian Army. And as a result, Finnish schools even began to study the Russian language and its history. All newspapers were censored and opponents were immediately imprisoned.

I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT FINLAND'S INDEPENDENCE

6.) How do the Russians and Finns differ from each other in the quotes below?

There were the wrong people in Russia and they thought that the Finns were angry with them, when in fact they weren't. They should have accepted the Great Petition, which is what the Finns are advocating and saying. If they had listened and received their petition, it would have been different for sure.

Having conquered Finland in the course of the nineteenth century, we paid too little attention to the internal affairs of this Russian province, and the result was a place next to the capital that was hostile to us, full of separatist tendencies, and inhabited by a small but stubborn people. The task of annexing Finland to the Russian national empire is transferred to the 20th century.

The ancient right of the Finnish people to participate in legislation through their representatives, the Estates, was forever confirmed by Emperor Alexander I, whose memory we bless. We know that in recent times there have been people in Russia who are hostile to our country, who have tried to arouse suspicion about the loyalty and honesty of the Finnish people by insulting us. But we also know that these insults are not based on the truth. During the ninety years that it has been united with mighty Russia, order in Finnish society has not once been disturbed. The feelings of security and happiness have strengthened more and more the ties which have made Finland an inseparable part of the Russian Empire, and which, however, have allowed the Finnish people to preserve and develop their own national character and essence, which God has given them and which no compulsion can change.

The Great Petition (1899)

With Finland, on the other hand. They wanted peace and understanding for these actions and missed Emperor Alexander 1, so they were very sad. Faith in goodness, that everything will work out and change, that hostile people can be defeated. And faith is further strengthened by believing in Finland's

patriotism and believe that Finland will become an independent country again, with its own laws and rights that would make Finland an independent country. It also came to me that we really respect Russia, but why do we hate Russians today. Where did that understanding change.

8.) Why can the parliamentary reform be considered radical at the time?

The position of Nicholas 11 was weakened by the Russian general strike of 1905 and by the revolutionary movement, which in turn confirmed the Grand Duke of Finland as a municipality on 30 July 1906 in its parliamentary order.

The government of 1906 was built, which made Finland a progressive parliament. As a result, we took a big leap from the Russian administration to our own administration, i.e. the most modern institution in Europe. That is how the building of the government began. The number of voting rights became ten times higher than that of the Diet of the Estates.

The first elections were held in March 1907, as a result of which the parliamentary reform also affected the alignment of workers' politics with public authority, which meant a lot. Until the end of the autonomy, typical features of the power relations of the members of parliament were typically those of the workers' movements, almost all of which had represented the central position of the Social Democrats as a party.

Why is it radical that Russia experienced great defeats and thanks to it Finland got a democratic republic, which is one of the world's first democrats, the republican and social democratic republic party was born then and had more power in Finnish affairs, i.e. it was fundamentally involved. Nowadays, people don't like social democracy because the party is misunderstood. It should be given more power and respect because it was the main party in its breakthrough that took the risk of running the country.

Even power at that time would mean a more open conflict among the Finns and the formation of a provisional government, as a result of which the parliament was dissolved and as a result, new elections in some places weighed on the Finns, even though new elections were immediately ordered. At this point, a risk was taken, because the parliament decided on our internal affairs and then Russia would have to try to rule our country again, because no one ruled Finland at that time.

In the second elections, the Social Democratic Party suffered a serious defeat, as the bourgeois parties gained a majority of seats.

And another big risk was that the Social Democrats refused to take care of their parliamentary duties, which was also a big risk to leave the holder of Finland. As a result, the Provisional Government issued Kornilov's Manifesto in September, which gave decision-making power that had previously belonged to the Emperor, which did not need the influence of Parliament at the time. It was intended to be temporary, but it remained until 1919. Until then, Finland's position was in danger because it was still unclear.

During those years, the Constitutional Committee and the Provisional Government became clear that even the Russian leadership still insists on the indivisibility of state power. And the New Finland Constitution Act had to be decided and ratified with Russia.

7.) How did the Finns oppose the Russification measures and how were the Finns divided in their attitude towards these measures?

The whole of Finland was not positive and as a result, they were against the February manifesto, but also against Russification. And how did the Finns oppose Russification?

On the other hand, there were supporters of compliance, who also think that the Finns must also agree to the will of the Russians, otherwise we would be deprived of the power of an autonomous country, although power can be obtained by magic if we agree to the things that would be required of them.

Passive resistance was exercised by those who refused to join the Russian army, but also refused to comply with the new laws. Officials preferred to resign from their positions. Officials were also imprisoned and are destined to be deported to Siberia.

1904 Nikolai Bobrikov was assassinated in the Senate House. Artists made art against Russification. The late 1800s and early 1900s were the golden age of art. One style is above all others, and that is national romanticism, which focused on Finnish culture and the unity of the people.

Even though a lot happened in Finland, many still lived normally. Without thinking about life or knowing anything at all, people in rural areas, for example, were not interested in the February Manifesto. https://webpages.tuni.fi/sochistoria/suomi80/teema4.htm https://www.hi3.fi/4-suomalainen-ja-venalainen-nationalismi-kohtaavat/ensimmainen-venalaistamiskausi-alkaa/ https://tullintarinat.wordpress.com/oppitunneilla-syntynytta/historia/7an-historiaprojekti/naisten-oikeudet-suomessa-1800-1900-lukujen-vaihteessa/
